By road:

We'd thoroughly recommend coming to Edinburgh by train or plane, but we can offer you secure parking nearby for a very reasonable £5 per night (you must pay for all nights of your stay) or £20 per week for longer stays, should you wish to bring your car.  There are double yellow lines outside Paradise Penthouse and very vigilant parking wardens and police (though if you keep an eye out you can unload your car!).  The A1 brings you into Edinburgh from the South, the M8 from the West and the M90 from the North.

By rail:

Arrive at Waverley Station and get a taxi to Old Fishmarket Close (ask for Mai Thai restaurant if the driver isn't sure and ask him to approach from the Cowgate or you'll have to walk down the Close!).  It's very close and shouldn't cost more than about £3 each way.  There is a taxi rank at the station and for your return try City Cabs on 0131 228 1211 (black cabs; quick and reliable).  If you prefer to walk, it'll take about 10 minutes if you're fit, as it's mainly uphill.  Leave the station, turn left and then walk up Cockburn (pronounced Co'burn in case you need to ask for directions) Street, turn right onto the Royal Mile (also known as the High Street at this point), cross over the road and Old Fishmarket Close is just before you get to St Giles Cathedral.  Turn down it and the Tron building (in which Paradise Penthouse is situated) is facing you.

By air:

From Edinburgh airport, take the shuttle bus to Edinburgh (it terminates right outside Waverley railway station) and then follow instructions above (taxi or walking).  If you want to take a taxi, try ringing City Cabs en route and they'll be waiting for you; otherwise walk down into the station and use the taxi rank there.  Onward Travel (tel: 0131 272 8222 or book online at onwardtravel.com) offer the best rates from the Airport that I've been able to find.

By ferry:

There is a ferry terminal in Rosyth, just a short trip away from Edinburgh, following the A90 over the Forth Bridge and into the City centre.

Foot passengers can take the X2 bus directly into the central bus station in Edinburgh or can take the same bus to the railway station at Inverkeithing and then get the train to Waverley Station in Edinburgh.
